Yoga is a fabulous discipline that develops physical fitness, mental focus and greater inner awareness.  It brings harmony and unity to all aspects of the being - body, mind and spirit.

At Sentient Being we offer a diverse selection of  Yoga styles and classes delivered by experienced and qualified teachers. 

We run classes everyday of the week including early bird, morning and evening class times.  We encourage students to commit to a complete course of  Yoga each term to experience the full benefits of regular practice.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga aligns breath and movement into a dynamic flowing sequence.  Beginning students will be gradually progressing through the Primary Series.  The Vinyasa creates internal heat, which softens the body and eliminates toxins.  Regular practice develops strength, stamina and mental focus.

Dru Yoga

Dru Yoga is a graceful & potent form of yoga, based on soft flowing movements, controlled directed breathing & relaxation. This class works on body, mind & spirit - releasing stress & fatigue, building heightened positive feelings, balancing chakras & accessing the powerful energy of the heart.

Dynamic Hatha (Iyengar) Yoga

Dynamic Yoga has its origins in Hatha and Iyengar Yoga styles where classic asanas (postures) are taught along with breathing techniques in a focussed and deliberate manner. Dynamic yoga classes tend to be more strenuous with emphasis on strength, balance, alignment and flexibility.  Suitable for enthusiastic beginners and intermediate students.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga teaches classic yoga postures (asanas) to develop physical strength, flexibility and balance with relaxation and some meditation techniques. Yoga gives the mind an opportunity to become still and focussed on listening to the breath and to the body.  It is a deeply satisfying,life-giving form of exercise and awareness development. Suitable for students of all levels.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga nourishes and strengthens your nervous and hormonal system, allowing you to have greater strength & balance in your day to meet everything that life brings. Kundalini yoga is a unique combination of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), mantra (sound) and meditation, threaded together into a specific sequence which targets an aspect of the Self to develop. It is a yoga in which you can conquer the mind, expand your consciousness, and improve your health, flexibility and creativity.

Pre Natal Yoga

This class assists in developing strength, flexibility & a connection with your baby. A supportive environment is created with emphasis on nurturing yoga postures, relaxation & correct breathing appropriate and safe during pregnancy & beyond.

Kids Yoga 5-10yrs

Kids Yoga is a fun class using animal poses to teach yoga asanas for strength, flexibility and inner balance. Classes also focus on breath and developing a deep connection with the self to empower positivity, confidence and courage in primary school age children.

Yoga Bugs 3-5yrs

A fun and creative class that stimulates children’s imagination, improves their flexibility and teaches them to relax. Combining traditional yoga postures with exciting adventures – children fly on mystical birds, float on magic carpets and ride space shuttles to the moon!

 Teens Yoga 11-16yrs

Teen Yoga aims to create a healthy relationship and understanding of the body, providing lifer-long skills to relax, manage stress and become a confident, resilient and strong adult.


Things you should know:

We recommend you bring your own yoga mat (or purchase one at Sentient Being) and drink bottle.

Bare feet are mandatory for Yoga practice.
